Availability of kyber

Is there any precedent of whether the bar can provide kyber crystals or any technology containing kyber, like lightsabers?

As the rule is 'no living things' and the crystals are described es partially alive, I was wondering whether we have precedent, or whether we can agree on a common line on that question.

I am inclined to suggest small chips might be had, but nothing that would power a lightsaber or anything larger. The crystals are rare in canon and it's always shown they need a lot of effort to acquire. Granted that's in cases of the Jedi.

I still am very reluctant to allow them to show up as easily as asking Bar. I'll bow to the majority though.

I'm just seeing this now, but for my two cents: I pretty much agree with those above. I'm uncomfortable letting it be so easy as just asking Bar. Quests for, etc. would make for great plot. I almost feel like it's something that needs to be earned in a way, as limited as it is in canon.

As for lightsabers, I'm also thinking no, as Lee pointed out they fall under weapon category.

Bwah. Welp, we already had Baze and Chirrut receive one from the bar in their first EP, but I understand the reasoning from everyone above. We can retcon it, I guess? But they're not going to actually construct a lightsaber or anything with it, just listen to its song once in a while.
