Hello can I play in your sandbox, please?
May. 21st, 2020 04:09 pm Um, what I mean is? I miiiight be thinking of apping during These Dark Times, and I was wondering two thiings:
1. Where in canon is your pup from?
2. If I were to app either a character who lives and dies entirely from between Eps II and III or a character who appears in all movies up to Ep VII despite dying in Ep IV, from where in canon would this pup cause least distress for all parties involved?

Date: 2020-05-21 03:56 pm (UTC)Ahsoka is from the first few episodes of Clone Wars. Last I had her do an OOM or refer to canon was right before R2 gets droid-napped in the middle of season 01. I am thinking of having Rebels-era Ahsoka in to interact with Cassian, but that will be only to tag Cassian threads and she won't get her own EPs.
Sabine is towards the middle of season 02 of Clone Wars. She hasn't met Rex, Wolfe, and Gregor yet, so I don't see any problems with her meeting Fives.

Date: 2020-05-24 05:24 pm (UTC)She's also from what used to be called the Star Wars Expanded Universe and is now called the Star Wars legends continuity. Although apparently Revan is canon now in official Star Wars and Revan is canon in Ibani's canon source, Star Wars: The Old Republic, so she COULD be Star Wars canon? It is confusing.

Date: 2020-05-27 12:00 am (UTC)Unless you want to drop kick your pup off the canon plot rails, in which case Ibani's canon has multiple ways of getting rid of someone when normal means don't work! :-D

Date: 2020-05-27 11:28 pm (UTC)Although, since Ibani doesn't know WHEN stuff happens, we might be able to make it work as long as they are vague about when they are from. The calendar even changes at least once between her time and Obi Wans, which would obfuscate things.
And she's never heard of the Clone Wars, so that would not clue her in at all. Or the Force could interfere and Ibani could just conveniently 'forget' to ask when they are from every time. I would not put that past it.

Date: 2020-05-27 10:52 am (UTC)AT SOME POINT, they're almost certainly going to go AU, because... I have Issues with the later movies. I had some non-AU workarounds for TLJ, but I can't see a way to fix TROS to my satisfaction while remaining canon-compliant.
So. Yes. AU! Eventually! Once I figure out exactly what that AU will be.

Date: 2020-05-27 05:24 pm (UTC)Kanan was a Jedi survivor of Order 66, so he worked with and served with clones, though likely not Fives specifically. I'm not totally sure how that would go, because if it were earlier in his canon Kanan would definitely not react well to seeing a Clone Trooper as Order 66 was... bad, but he does now work with older clones it would maybe be less immediately startling. But it might still be different to be confronted with a young Clone whom he can't know whether or not is under the influence of Order 66, and it might also be... knowledge-of-the-future uncomfortable.
Kanan canonically knew Obi-Wan Kenobi, he was one of Kanan's teachers when Kanan was a youngling in the Temple (and actually if I remember my canon right he may have indirectly inspired Obi-Wan's 'stay away from the temple' message after Order 66). Aside from again the future knowledge thing, it is actually plot relevant that Kanan and Hera not know Obi-Wan survived Order 66.
Hera was on Ryloth during the Clone Wars and so is familiar with clones and doesn't have the same issues Kanan had, so besides the knowing-the-future thing would probably be fine with Fives. I don't think we ever saw Fives on Ryloth, though Obi-Wan was there and I think would have had to have known of her father, Cham Syndulla, though I think we only see Mace Windu and some other Jedi actually meeting Cham and going to his Twi'lek Resistance compound (though you know, if you wanted to futz with that at all, I wouldn't be opposed). Again, future knowledge issue, though I think Hera might be more zen about that generally than Kanan maybe would. Like I said it is somewhat important that she not know Obi-Wan was alive during the Imperial Era, at least until she's... pretty far along in canon (I imagine it would be fair to say she might have learned he was alive after Episode IV, or not because no one in Star Wars ever talks to each other...)
Beyond like, Order 66 and the Empire and all that, I don't know that there's very much specifically that they know that could be trouble. They both know of Darth Vader, but don't know he was Anakin Skywalker, for instance.

Date: 2020-05-27 06:00 pm (UTC)So fair warning I haven't seen Rebels yet - will watch it after my rewatch of TCW 1-6, and I will watch season 7 with
Fives was a CT in the 501st during the liberation of Ryloth. He's not on screen, but he was almost certainly there. However, unlike some of his brothers he doesn't have a habitt of adopting Twi'Leks, so he may not have interected with any of the locals. He certainly wasn't high ranked enough to have interected with any of the leadership.
However, given the givens with Fives, I cannot imagine a situation where someone who has survived O66 meeting him before he finds out about it could end well. Although if he does make it through canon, telling him that he failed to prevent it would be nicely devastating. Still, I'm not sure if bringing Fives in for the first time post-death is a good idea.
Ditto Obi-Wan - if it is any way possible for a young Obi to converse with them without them basically saying "ORDER 66 IS GOING TO HAPPEN," the fine, but it seems unlikely. And he can't wave it off as 'waaaay in the future' like he has with some sandbox threads if he actually knows Kanan.
(I maaaay do something if I can wank it out around Obi pretending to be dead in Milliways, but this might be a pipe dream)
So this may be a reluctant agreement that they probably shouldn't meet at first because no one wants Fives to try to kill Palpatine before his time, and Obi-Wan can't leave well enough alone :(
